Share a true miracle that happened to you!

In August 2003, I was in a serious collision involving a STOP sign runner. My car was totaled, and I was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and was later released. However, during a follow-up appointment, it was discovered I had severe spine damage. I met with two different surgeons who viewed my MRI, and both said they were "shocked I was not paralyzed." That it was a miracle, I was still walking! The MRI showed my spine was resting against my spinal cord. Both said I needed surgery as soon as possible. They were worried I could become paralyzed if I were in another collision or if I were to fall. I scheduled my surgery in December of that year, just before Christmas. I thank GOD the surgery was a success, and I also feel the spirits of my twin sister Vivian and my father protected me.

On June 2nd I was very honored to be the Keynote Speaker for the 55th Annual Commencement Ceremony at Grossmont College. It was a double blessing to receive an Honorary Associate of Arts Degree from Chancellor Cindy Miles and President Nabil Abu-Ghazaleh. The first honorary degree to be given by the College.
