Favorite CHS Memory:

Not necessarily a "favorite" but two memories stand out. The first was playing Ruffles & Flourishes and Hail to the Chief in the CHS band when President Kennedy's motorcade passed on El Cajon Boulevard at 54th Street in 10th Grade. The second was the announcement of his assassination during 11th Grade history class.

Anything else you'd like to share?

We moved from a very small farming community in central Minnesota a week before starting 10th grade. There were far more kids at CHS than in my entire town. You betcha I had to learn a new language, and so much more.

Another memory is the changing of the dress style from the Beach Boys surfer look of Pendleton and pocket tee, pastel Levis and Converse low tops in 10th grade to Ivy League Gant madras shirt, dress slacks and wing tips by 12th grade. Who did that anyway? The Toggery Shop?
