That's my mom who did the RP Times.  Thanks Christopher for posting that copy.  My mom, has been gone from our lives for 24 years and I miss her dearly.  Seeing this made me smile and remember when she worked at RP.

Walked by the old neighborhood today. Didn't realize that Horace Mann is being upgraded. I don't recognize the old track & field. Looks like it's now a baseball field. Such memories.

Hello Chris,

I had a lengthy conversation with Marc at the 55th reunion.  He is living in Alpine and is doing fine.  I don't have his address or telephone number.  He has aged real well and I recognized him immediately.

I looked up Terri Shewmaker online. There is an obituary online stating that she died October 30,2020. We were friends in our senior year.

Hey, Colts... it's been one year since we lost Tony Flores (class of 72).

Because of COVID there was no memorial at the time. Some of us are thinking it would be good to have a simple memorial/celebration of life, perhaps in January after the rush of the holiday season lightens up... maybe a Sunday afternoon like Jan 16 or 23, and probably at the beach, beacuse Tony loved the beach.

Let us know here if you're interested and want to be kept in the loop and spread the word to other Colts and friends of Tony.

Hi Class of 72 (and any others...

Regarding a memorial/celebration of life for Tony Flores (72), we have finalized the details...

Sunday Feb 20
4 p.m. (approx 1 hour)
Crown Point

We'll have a brief time to share memories and to honor Tony's memory at a place that was special to him.

Any of us who want to go out for food/drink afterwards can make plans to do so.

If you have any questions, etc., contact me here or by:

After 20 plus years in the U.S.Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and 30 years as a computer tech I had to retire in 2012 when my boss said he hired to young guys to replace me.

After 55 years my wife passed and now I work on classic and hot rod cars and trucks.

Ok, you want to know about my first job. Well, right after 9th grade at Horace Mann, my friend helped me get a job. I lied about my age and started working at Farrells Ice Cream Parler restaurant in La Mesa and worked there until my Senior year at Crawford. I basically worked nights and weekends for my sophmore and junior years and skated by with C's and a couple of D's and still graduated. Missed picture day for the 70 and 71 yearbooks, so I'm basically a ghost student until 72. That was my first REAL paying job, with a pay check, a whopping 1.65 an hour, plus tips when I became a Busboy. Fun times that I will always remember.
